Our Thailand trip is less than 80 days away. We're really excited, and just booked our 23-hour long flights. That's the longest flight I've ever been on. Bowman's nephew advised us to not fly through Qatar, so we're going through Hong Kong instead. We got confirmation today that we have a hotel room in Bangkok for our first two nights. We were getting worried that we might not get a room. It just so happens that there's a five-day royal cremation ceremony happening in Bangkok starting the day before we arrive. King Bhumibol Adulyadej died in October 2016, and since then the nation has been in mourning. Some travel websites recommended that tourists stay out of Bangkok that week, so who knows what we'll be experiencing when we arrive.
Any chance you can stop in Hong Kong for a couple of days on your way home.
