It takes a day to get from Tasmania to Melbourne so it’s another day at sea. I’d be curious to hear your feelings about these days. My view is that there tends to be three camps – the love it, tolerate its and hate its camps.
- Love its – excited to have nothing to do, no rush to be or get anywhere, it’s a chill or relax day, an opportunity to sit read, partake in the ship shows and activities, take a nap, enjoy a chat with with a stranger on board
- Tolerate its – well since you have no choice, you can’t get off the boat they either try and make the best of it and hang out with the love its, or hide from the happy people. But underneath they struggle in silence. What keeps them sane is knowing tomorrow will be another adventure. They will have fun on this day, whether they want to or not.
- Hate its – are just waiting for it to be over, and feel this is a wasted day. Because the ship is filled with more love its, they tend to mock them. They participate in some of the activities to kill time to make the day go faster. Some use the gym, sports deck to walk off their impatience.
Maybe I should ask you guess my camp, instead of revealing my secret. Here were some of our groups activities today:
- Carol get her reflexology apt rescheduled to today and attended the body art lecture
- Rena got her hair done
- Mom and Ruth met the vocalists this morning
- I’m guessing most will listen to the assistant cruise director’s tribute to Elvis
- MyLisa attended an opal seminar and fragrance lecture, disappointed she missed both trivia and the movie
- I took a nap, went swimming
- Many of our crew chilled in the Explorers Lounge
- Others took a nap during a seminar or performance
- Some of the single ladies had happy hour drinks together
- Afternoon tea with the girls
We saw a beautiful rainbow off the starboard side of the boat. It rained for less than 30 minutes. The sea is starting to roll on us again, wish us luck sleeping tonight.
Tomorrow we arrive in Melbourne. Pat, Victor and Rena are going on the included tour then meeting up with friends. Nine members of our group are going to a kangaroo and koala sanctuary. Ruth, MyLisa and are on a 12 hour tour of the Great Ocean Road.
Ta ta for now…we’re off to dinner.
