We left Skagway around 4:30 pm on Tuesday, our last stop in Alaska, on our way to Victoria, Canada. So this was another full day at sea. We don’t expect to arrive in Victoria until 3:00 pm on Thursday. So what do you do on a day at sea?
First you sleep in a little because there’s nothing to hurry up and go and do. Then you eat breakfast at your leisure or you completely skip breakfast and just shoot for lunch. We went to the grand epernay for lunch today. Jon and Bowman found some blue lounge chairs near the pool to take naps in and also catch some breaching whales or dolphins.
If your brother and his wife rent an alcove, which is like a cabana, it’s a great place to chill out for a bit. This one was located on the 15th deck, and they had it from 9 AM to 9 PM. You could order lunch drinks, cookies and just chill and chat until you decide you need to stand up and move around and try something else. So you go to your room, sit on the balcony, and continue to look for breaching whales.
When you hear your name being called to rooms down, you check out what all the commotion is about. When you learn Patrick got a new job, you do a happy dance. With the next feeding time not being until 6:45, your next decision is whether or not, you’re going to take a nap before dinner, write this blog, or head down to the concierge desk to getting some clarity on tipping and our luggage tomorrow.

Tonight is the first time will all be eating at the same table or next to each other. We had a few problems getting the table, which frustrated the heck out of John. They reserved a table for 13, at least 3 months ago. Eventually they found us one and we had some lovely servers which helped the mood. For dinner lobster tail was on the menu as well as baked Alaska which brought us back to the 90s when we were on the millennial cruise and had lobster Thermidor and baked Alaska.
After dinner, a few of us decided to go to the Amade show afterwards. It was described as a is Mozart meets Cirque du Soleil concept. But it wasn’t good. Mom and I left 20 minutes in. John escape seven minutes and he was the lucky one. When the people in all these white outfit started to sing Michael Jackson’s Thriller we kind of got more confused, had to giggle and had to leave.
So back to the room, we went for comfy pants, pajamas, movie with the door open because it doesn’t get dark here until 940. Tomorrow we have a whale watching excursion in Victoria and hope to see some thing breaching next to us just so it doesn’t tip the boat over.
