At Buono Stella, breakfast started at 8am so mom and I were downstairs with luggage packed and ready to go by eight. Even though we didn’t need to leave until nine we were a little concerned about how long it would take to get there, knowing everything has taken a little longer. Breakfast was a little more traditional, American for a change. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, then you had your Mediterranean, salty plate of cheeses and salami, of course there were croissants, and there was a tasty little round roll that it just put some butter on ate it up. I was really hungry. Remember yesterday we only had a croissant for breakfast and a gelato for lunch.
We didn’t get to see much of the place when we arrived because it was dark, after breakfast, we are able to see more of the a few photos:

When Emmidio offered to help turn our car because we knew that was, we are quite grateful. Then he offered to drive us in our car down to the square. we were happy to let him do it. I tried giving him a tip, but he refused it. When I asked him, how was he going to get back, he said, I don’t know, but we assumed he must have friends in town who could give them a ride back. SYD I don’t know.
The drive to best Sorrento wasn’t that bad, we made it there just a little after 10 o’clock and our class started at 11 so we consider that good. We found a parking lot relatively easily, and it had a lift – jackpot! and it was just around the corner. We are walking to the class, my GPS said it was much farther,
But directly challenged Mom found it before I did. I walked right by it. Not thinking it was had a storefront because of the photos that they sent us looked completely f
The owner, Tony, let us come in early, have a seat and drink some water. Tony lived in Texas Where he worked for Texaco and traveled around to different sites. He eventually made his way back to Italy and opened a restaurant in Positano. That took a toll on him so he gave up the restaurant business and decided to open a cooking class business.
Everything we made was delicious, mom’s favorite dish was the seafood dish with pasta. As an appetizer we made a Salt and Pepper shrimp with the shells on and most of the people ate the shells. We made Sea bream with two different kinds of clams and tomatoes. We also made a pasta which was like a thicker noodle, but short. For dessert, we also made tiramisu.

There were only six people in our class and most of them were lovely couples, all from the United States: San Francisco,CA, Red Bank, NJ, and us. The two other couples join this class late when they realize the boat they were renting today was not going to leave the dock because of the weather. It wasn’t raining, but it was a little windy, which made for high waves. Everyone participated in the cooking and seemed to enjoy the food. We were the only two in the group that had taken a cooking class before. So we talked about some of our other adventures in Paris, Barcelona, and Umbria.
We hit the road for Praiano, and figured it was gonna take us an hour. The first part of the ride was much easier than the longest part of the ride. We were clearly on the Amalfi coast, driving back-and-forth and back-and-forth. The curvy roads were a little stressful, and they were 17 km to get to Praiano. Because it was a very windy road. It took forever to go 1 km. I was happy to get behind a bus, which normally I would never say is the case. But they just seemed to plow ahead and honk for making a turn. But they moved pretty quickly and I wanted to go like 30 kph. I was happy we made it to Praiano, but not so excited about how steep the hell was that it was on. We had to pull up to the entrance, which had a chain over it. There’s a family in front of us. Told us help was coming someone inside. It basically look like we were parking on the roof. I was ready for a break fortunately one of the guys that worked there drove our cars and parked them for us. Then he instructed us to get in the lift, yes, there was another lift, with our bags and travel down to the -2 floor. You don’t ever see -2 floors on the United States.
He invited us to go to the balcony, offered us drinks and cake, and provided us with a breakfast menu to select from. We chatted for a while with a mother and daughter who were staying at the hotel. They had been to Pompeii the same day we were there. Lovely balcony that also has a hot tub and an outside shower. The tile on the And so is the tile in the bathroom.

Tomorrow, if the weather is good, will be going on a four hour boat tour of the Amalfi coast just mom, myself and the captain. Then we will be driving to Rome and spending the night near the airport.
come on. Not that drama and excitement today. Sound more relaxing kinda sorta. The smile on your faces says it all. So glad you enjoyed. Happy boating – can’t wait to see the photos from the boat. Enjoy.
